Music has never been just a background to my life—it has been the heartbeat of it. Some of my earliest memories are of sitting in the car with my father, listening to artists like Ozzy Osbourne, Kenny Rogers, and Van Halen. I didn’t realize it then, but those moments were shaping the person I would become. The way the melodies filled the car, the way the lyrics connected to something inside me—I remember feeling like music opened a door to a world where everything made sense. Even as a child, I knew I wanted to be part of that world.
When I got my first bass guitar at six years old, it felt like someone had handed me the key to that world. I practiced constantly, not because I had to, but because playing made me feel alive. As I grew older and picked up guitar and vocals, music became my way of expressing what I couldn’t always say out loud. My current project, Broken Surface, has become more than just a band—it’s a piece of who I am.
At thirteen, I discovered audio engineering, and it felt like unlocking another level of music. Learning how to shape sound, how to build emotion through EQ and compression, and how to bring a song to life behind the scenes made me fall in love with music even more deeply. Engineering isn’t just technical for me—it’s emotional. It’s storytelling. It’s taking a feeling and turning it into something people can hear and connect with.

When I was born I was always around instruments because of my dad who played the drums and the bass. This led to me playing the drums and bass. The drums were my main instrument up until around four years ago when I started to get into bass through bands like Primus and Rush. I got my first bass on Christmas in 2021. since then I’ve been able to play in a few bands but Broken Surface was the first I played in and the one I focus on the most today.

My favorite thing about myself is being able to tell people “I'm a drummer for a band! We're called Broken Surface.” I always enjoyed music, before I ever touched snare drum, (or probably even knew what one was). I would listen to many different types of music, but punk was really my favorite. When I first started going to punk shows around 7 years old to see “The Bouncing Souls, Stoked For Summer” I instantly became inspired and I've gotten to go to many different punk and hardcore shows ever since. Some of my favorites include Blink 182 and NOFX. I instantly fell in love with drums when I turned 9, and have been so lucky to help form Broken Surface. Being able to create and practice with them is something I love to do and hope to never stop.
